February 1, 2007 at 19:00, Encounter Point ("נקודת מוצא" in Hebrew and "نقطة احتكاك" in Arabic) screened with Arabic, Hebrew and English subtitles at the Jerusalem Cinematheque (Binyanei Ha'uma, ICC Jerusalem International Convention Center). Filmmakers and subjects were present for a Q&A.

HAIFA

December 28, 2006 at 19:00, Encounter Point ("נקודת מוצא" in Hebrew and "نقطة احتكاك" in Arabic) screened with Arabic, Hebrew and English subtitles at the Haifa Cinematheque (Sderot Hanassi 142). Sami Michael, acclaimed writer and acting president of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, resident of Haifa, was to say a few words before the screening as part of the city's celebration of Hannukah, Christmas and Id al Adha, but fell ill at the last moment.

TEL AVIV

December 21, 2006 at 19:00 PM * followed by Q&A, Encounter Point ("נקודת מוצא" in Hebrew and "نقطة احتكاك" in Arabic), Encounter Point screened with Arabic, Hebrew and English subtitles at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque. Filmmakers and subjects were present.

DUBAI

December 15th-17th, Encounter Point screened at the Dubai International Film Festival. Filmmakers Ronit Avni, Julia Bacha, Nahanni Rous and Joline Makhlouf were present. Co-Director Julia Bacha spoke on a panel entitled, Operation Cultural Bridge – A World of Discovery, with Richard Gere, Oliver Stone, Maji Abdi, Mohammed Khan and Ronnie Screwvala on December 15th at 7pm at the Madinat Theatre

December 8th, Encounter Point screened at the Bahamas International Film Festival, winning the 2006 Spirit of Freedom Award. Director Ronit Avni was present to accept the award.

December 5-7th, Encounter Point screened at the Northwest Film Forum Tuesday 7PM, Wednesday & Thursday at 7PM and 9PM. Filmmakers Nahanni Rous and Julia Bacha were present. The screenings were co-hosted by a coalition of 12 organizations, ranging from Palestinian to Jewish.

December 5th, 6th, Encounter Point screened at the RagTag Cinema in Columbia, Missouri.

December 1st to 7th, Encounter Point screened at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon.

November 29th, Encounter Point screened at the Nazareth International Film Festival, Nazareth Cinematheque at 22:30

November 26th, Encounter Point screened at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, LI. Co-Director, Writer, Editor Julia Bacha attended for a Q&A

November 17-23: Just Vision screened Encounter Point at the Quad Cinema daily at 1pm, 2:45pm, 4:30pm, 6:15pm, 8pm, 10:15pm in NYC. There was a special Q&A November 17th-22nd with filmmakers at the 8pm screenings.

November 17th to the 21st Encounter Point screened at the Lefont Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, GA.

November 15th, 7:30pm * The Women in Film Foundation hosted a special preview screening of Encounter Point in Los Angeles with Director Ronit Avni at the Laemmle Music Hall 3, 9036 Wilshire Blvd. Beverly Hills, 90211. Rabbi Kenneth Chasen and Imam Jihad Turk spoke following the screening.

November 11th-12th Encounter Point screened at the Enzian Theaterin Maitland, FL. Julia Bacha attended.

November 3-9th, , Encounter Point screened at the Regal Lincolnshire 20 Cinemas in Lincolnshire, IL.

November 5th-6th, Encounter Point screened at the the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville NY. Filmmakers Ronit Avni and Julia Bacha attended the November 5th screening.

November 4-9th, Encounter Point screened at the Kimball Theatre in Williamsburg, VA. Filmmaker Nahanni Rous attended the November 8th screening.

October 20-26th, Encounter Point screened at the Regal Downtown West Cinema 8, in Knoxville. Encounter Point was the highest grossing film at that theater that week.

Encounter Point screened at the Milwaukee International Film Festival on October 26th and 29th.

Encounter Point screened at the Sao Paulo Film Festivalon October 20-25th. The film is entitled, "ZONA DE CONFLITO" in Portuguese with electronic subtitles in Portuguese.

Oct 29th-Oct 30th, Encounter Point screened at Upstate Films in Rhinebeck, NY.

October 27th, Director Ronit Avni and Co-Director Julia Bacha were interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio as part of the "Conversations with Kathleen Dunn" program. Visit www.wpr.org for details.

October 13th, Encounter Point screened at the Bend Film Festival. Composer Kareem Roustom was present to receive the award for best musical score.

September 28th-29th & October 10th, Encounter Point screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival. On opening night of the festival the Q&A was hosted by Avi Lewis of CBC.

June 11th: Inheriting The Holy Land in Philadelphia, PA. Kareem Roustom, ‘ud player and composer of the film score for Encounter Point; Udi Bar-David, cellist and Artistic Director of Intercultural Journeys; and violinist Hanna Khoury performed music from Israel and Palestine and Julia Bacha screened excerpts of Encounter Point.

April 27, 2006 at 10am: Press screening and press conference for Encounter Point at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, NYC

April 26, 2006 at 6pm:Encounter Point premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival at AMC Loews Lincoln Square 12, NYC.

April 23, 2006: Ronit Avni and Julia Bacha spoke at the Islamic Center of Long Island.

April 2, 2006: Producer Nahanni Rous showed excerpts of Encounter Point at the Pittsburgh Jewish Film Festival.

April 5, 2006: Director Ronit Avni spoke at Monmouth University.

March 8, 2006: Just Vision screened its film, Encounter Point, at the IFC of the World Bank in cooperation with Search for Common Ground and the Middle East Institute. Julia Bacha and Ronit Avni answered questions, moderated by Clayton Swisher.

March 7, 2006: Just Vision and the Alliance for Middle East Peace held an event at Lounge 201 in Washington, DC, to encourage increased support of Palestinian and Israeli peace building efforts in the Middle East.

February 23, 2006: Just Vision's film Director, Ronit Avni, spoke at the women filmmakers' symposium of the True/False Film Festival at Stephens College.

February 22, 2006: Excerpts of Encounter Point screened at the Ted Awards as part of Jehane Noujaim's wish to use film to bring the world together.

January 22, 2006: Just Vision Director Ronit Avni spoke at the Islamic Center of Southern California as part of a Muslim-Jewish interfaith dialogue, co-hosted by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Ethics.

December 27-30, 2005: Just Vision's Project Co-Manager Nahanni Rous presented at a conference on non-violence in Bethlehem along with speakers/peace builders and film subjects Ali Abu Awwad, Sami Al Jundi and George Sa'adeh.

December 6-13, 2005: Just Vision Director Ronit Avni spoke at Congregation Kol Tikva, Brit T'zedek V'Shalom, the Leo Baeck Temple and the Pasadena Jewish Temple in Los Angeles, CA

November 30th, 2005: Just Vision held a benefit screening of our upcoming documentary film-in-progress to raise finishing funds at the HULT Business School.

November 29th, 2005: Just Vision Co-Manager Nahanni Rous spoke with students from the New Initiative for Middle East Peace (NIMEP) at Tufts University

November 12th, 2005: Co-Director Julia Bacha spoke on a panel for the New York Times' "Times Talks Hollywood, Los Angeles" series on the theme of the war documentary.

November 8th, 2005: Just Vision's staff screened scenes from our upcoming documentary film and spoke at the Busboys and Poets Cafe in Washington, DC, with an introduction from Control Room director Jehane Noujaim.

October 19th, 2005: Just Vision spoke to the Human Rights Watch Young Advocates Program at the International Center for Tolerance Education.

October 10th, 2005: Just Vision showed a rough cut of our upcoming documentary film, 'Encounter Point' (working title), with DocuClub as part of DocuClub's 'In-the-Works' series at Makor in New York. This series recently screened Academy Award-winner, 'Born into Brothels'.

Just Vision also screened a rough cut of the film at the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in Boston in conjunction with the Network of Arab American Professionals.

October 7th, 2005: Just Vision's Founder and Director, Ronit Avni, co-edited a book, entitled: "Video for Change: A Guide for Advocacy and Activism." The book launched on Friday, October 7th, at New York University's Center for Media, Culture and History. Written by leading video activists, "Video for Change" combines a comprehensive analysis of what's going on in this growing global field with a how-to primer for those interested in advancing their skills. The launch included a roundtable discussion with Ronit and two of her co-editors: Gillian Caldwell, Executive Director of WITNESS, and Sam Gregory, Program Manager of WITNESS.

Ronit Avni and Joline Makhlouf appeared on an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from Jerusalem in April 2005. An image from their segment was also shown online at www.oprah.com.

Just Vision Project Co-Manager Nahanni Rous spoke on a panel, entitled "Alternative Avenues for Peace in Israel-Palestine," at Harvard University on April 15, 2005 at the Fong Auditorium in Boylston Hall, Harvard Yard. The event was co-sponsored by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and American Friends of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam.

Just Vision staff Joline Makhlouf and Ronit Avni spoke on a panel for Reform Rabbinical students in Jerusalem along with Robi Damelin and Nadwa Saranda of the Bereaved Families Forum in March 2005.

Just Vision Project Co-Manager Nahanni Rous spoke on a panel about civilian peacework in Israel-Palestine at the recent Brit Tzedek v'Shalom conference in February, 2005.

Just Vision Director Ronit Avni recently co-facilitated a week-long workshop at Asia Source in Bangalore, India, on the use of film and video for social change purposes in February 2005.

On December 14, 2004, Project Co-Manager Joline Makhlouf represented Just Vision in Amman, Jordan, as a participant in the Global Peace Initiative of Women.

On Tuesday, November 23, and Wednesday, November 24, Just Vision staff featured on, "The God Squad," webcast live and broadcast on Telecare TV http://www.telecaretv.org and WLNY/Channel 55.

On October 31st, Just Vision Director Ronit Avni presented a lecture, "Leadership in the Absence of Political Leadership," at Lishma, in the Skirball Center for Adult Jewish Learning in Manhattan.

On October 3, Just Vision Director Ronit Avni presented at the Islamic Center of Long Island in Westbury.
